Making the panels

The plans for our boats come on several large sheets of paper which include a drawing of the boat and full size templates for the hull and deck panels as well as the bulkheads. Also included is a detailed instruction booklet.

The photo shows a long sheet of plywood which I made by scarfing two and a fraction sheets of plywood together. You can also cut the panels first then join them with but blocks. The paper templates are taped together and laid onto the plywood. The pattern is then transferred to the plywood by punching through the paper into the plywood then removing the paper and connecting the marks with a straightedge and pencil. The curves are gentle enough that straight lines between closely spaced punch marks make a fair curve.

I used a saber saw to cut the panels from the plywood. I marked only one set of panels, stacked the two sheets of plywood, then cut matching panels in one pass
