Yellowfin 17
17 feet by 21inches
35 pounds
This experimental boat is based on my bluefin design but utilizes
the glued lapstrake construction. Panels are overlapped and glued
rather than fiberglassed. this saves quite a lot of weight. Sheer
and deck pannels were stained to contrast with the natural wood
of the rest of the boat. |

Schoodic 17 canoe
It is built using the glued lapstrake process where then pre-cut
panels are beveled along one edge, wired together stitch and glue
fashion with the panels overlapping and then the joints are filled
with epoxy.
I built this one this spring for a church freind.
I stained the top plank, left the rest natural and finished the
whole boat with spar varnish
I will write the instructions for building this boat this fall,
